LIMITED EDITION: The painting called "Hear Me" was presented to The Katzie Nation and The Asante Centre by Dutchie Mathison, a well-known local artist.
It was created to help raise the awareness of the dangers of drinking alcohol through pregnancy and to assist in raising funds for the agencies to provide ongoing support and help for those children and families living with Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder (FASD). Dutchie speaks about "the pregnant storyteller" sharing her stories with the children of all nations about the dangers of alcohol. This is a reminder that FASD crosses all boundaries: social, economic and cultural. Any woman who drinks alcohol during her pregnancy is at risk of having a child living with FASD.
